Coaching

Coaching is a powerful solution-focused approach in assisting and supporting the individual to achieve the greatness. It represents very important and valuable partnership between the coach and the client; it is a creative, provoking, challenging and inspiring transformational conversation which directs the client towards personal and professional self-realization in a supportive environment.

The aim is to develop an individual’s performance by unlocking their capabilities through guided conversation and questioning. The participation of the individual being coached (the coachee) in arriving at solutions is an essential part of the coaching process.

Based on the principals that people already have all the resources they need, no one is ‘wrong’ or ‘broken’; behind every behavior there is a positive intention, people are OK, change is inevitable and so on, coaching is making the space needed for the client to recognize their creativity, resources, potentials and goals and to feel and be whole again.

One great thing about coaching is that it combines various techniques and methods, such as NLP, visualization, trance, etc. which are driving the individual towards continuous development, growth, learning and effective performance and are enhancing the quality of their lives in all areas.

A professional coach has several qualities and skills, such as:

· Listening, observing and precisely following the individual’s needs and goals, which makes one coaching session a unique experience for both sides.

· Asking specific and adequate questions in order to encourage the individual in their path of self-discovery.

· Elicitating the individual’s emotional, mental and spiritual states of being in order to bring them to the surface of the consciousness.

· Giving and receiving feedback.

·   Holding the individual responsible for their actions and results.

Another of very important point in coaching (as it is named solution-focused) - is that coaching is not dealing with problems or fixing the individual. Dealing with issues or working on strategies to develop new skills can arise, of course. The main course of good coaching is about success, change and challenge of the individual or the team, supporting strengths, cultivating their greatness and building high-performance culture with a new way of thinking, feeling and acting/communicating, which enables the individual or the team to rise above their issues, to find solutions easily, to transfer their knowledge into the key field of performance and to gain insights about themselves, their capabilities, and their potential.

The coach is not advising, teaching, providing answers or instructing and is not closely relied with the context, which means, detailed knowledge of the industry or the role of their coachee is not needed. This point allows the coach to be involved in coaching with any subject and any scope of work, wherever enhancing the performance, raising the awareness or personal and professional development is required, often in a very short period of time.

Coaching can bring you far and beyond what you had imagined your life could be, usually to a place you have always wanted to go to. Some of the benefits of coaching you can achieve:

· Discovering your true self

· Acknowledging and fulfilling your goals, dreams, desires, talents

· Defining priorities

· Expressing your creativity

· Constructive thinking, emotional control, effective behavior

· Establishing your values, vision and mission

· Leading a meaningful and purposeful life

· Building quality relationships

· Know-how and decision making skills

· Balance

· High performance, potential and effectiveness

· Self confidence and trust in your inner voice

·   Professional success

Coaching is a powerful relationship between a coach and a coachee (the person being coached) based on honesty, truth and mutual trust, full of analysis and reflection, challenging perceptions and behavior in a safe and secure environment and enabling the person being coached to formulate their own ideas and solutions. In the organizational context, coaching will lead to raised awareness of the importance and impact of the individual in the big business picture. In any case, participation of the coachee is crucial to successful coaching, supporting the creative process of finding their own solutions and agreeing to the actions they will take, which leads to deeper and more lasting behavioral change.

Coaching can be applied to a wide range of subjects involving personal or professional development or dealing with states and issues that arise in any aspect of life, such as: blocking state, stress, life and business crises, lack of motivation, problems in managing teams, changes, etc., mental blocks, conflict situations.

It is quite recommendable to educate yourself about coaching, to know your objectives for working with a coach and to remember that coaching is an important relationship. There should be a connection between you and the coach that "feels" right to you.
