Wingwave® Coaching

Developed by Cora Besser-Siegmund and Harry Siegmund, German psychologists and management trainers at the Besser-Siegmund Institute in Hamburg, Germany in the 1990s, wingwave® Coaching represents a new short-term coaching concept that combines several extremely effective and well-proven coaching techniques to achieve immediate, profound and long-lasting changes. This method is used by a variety of individuals, including successful executives, managers, creative people and athletes, to maximize their personal and professional performance and increase their focus and the inner sense of wellbeing.

This innovative method is the preferred technique for addressing all areas of life that are connected with stressful memories of past experiences and/or unhelpful emotions regarding future events that impact on the client’s sense of well-being and accomplishment. This method is based on scientific research and its effects are very tangible, measurable and fast, taking into account how our brains work and process information as well as how the unprocessed experiences continue to influence our sense of well-being and our performance.

The metaphor hiding behind the name wingwave® comes from Edward N. Lorenz’s theory of chaos which claims that the blink of a butterfly’s wing has the power to generate a hurricane on the other side of the globe, if the beat occurs at exactly the right time and place.. ”Wing" in the word wingwave comes from the wing beat of a butterfly. In a similar way, in order for your coaching session to make changes possible, we will select an exact starting point for your wingwave coaching based on your current physical and emotional needs by applying a muscle response test (“O-ring test”).
The wing metaphor also depicts how the brain hemispheres work together to support intellectual flights and to secure successful landings. “Wave” conjures up the term "brainwave" as in “brilliant idea” or "flash of inspiration". And exactly these kinds of brainwaves are triggered by targeted wingwave coaching.

Wingwave® also does not require the client to perform an 'emotional striptease' by discussing or analysing their problems; instead, the negative emotions that need to be targeted by the intervention are detected in an unobtrusive manner using the myostatic test. This is why wingwave® Coaching is particularly useful when working with clients suffering from the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), including the victims of trauma and abuse, as well as those suffering from Anxiety, Phobias and Panic Disorder (PD).

wingwave® technique combines:
• Bilateral hemisphere stimulation, through “awake” Rapid Eye Movement (REM) induction with auditory or tactile left-right input
• Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) (goals defining, work with submodalities, reframing, work on time line, etc.)
• Kinesiology - muscle response (myostatic) test to evaluate the effectiveness of the process

Three main areas of wingwave coaching in the work with clients are stress regulation, coaching for success and belief coaching, for example, wingwave® Coaching helps clients:

• implement changes

• enhance their abilities and skills

• activate personal resources

· develop mental fitness

· remove mental & emotional blockages

· stress relief in business & personal environment

· achieve their goals

· gain self-confidence

· increase creativity, self-reliance and well being

· public speaking

· stress decrease in states of exhaustion, insomnia and jetlag

· removal of blockades such as fear from flight, dentists and similar

·   control the attitude towards food and eating

During wingwave® coaching intervention client has the maximum control over the process itself and can at any moment continue or stop the process. The coach is not the one giving suggestions of the process content leading to a successful resolution. The clients themselves develop their own individual understanding and path towards the goal from their range of ideas, feelings and behavior.
